What data the website processes

Interior Design Germany is a static website without user accounts, comment forms, newsletters, analytics scripts, advertising or embedded third-party services, and the only data processed when a page is opened are the technical server logs that the hosting provider keeps to operate and secure the server. Those logs contain the IP address of the visitor, the requested address, the time, the browser identification string and the referring page, and they are retained for 60 days before deletion. The server stands in the United States of America, so the log data are processed outside the European Union; the transfer rests on the necessity of delivering the requested page and on the retention limit stated above.

The legal basis for the server logs under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, in Germany Datenschutz-Grundverordnung or DSGVO) is the legitimate interest of the publisher in a working and secure website. Log data are not combined with other data and are not used to identify individual visitors.

What happens to email sent to the editorial team

Email sent to info@interior-design.com.de is stored in the mailbox of the editorial team for as long as the correspondence needs, and the address of the sender is used only to answer the message. The editorial team does not add senders to any list, does not pass addresses to third parties and deletes closed correspondence after the response period.

Email to the site passes through the mail infrastructure of the hosting arrangement described in the legal notice; the provider processes the message data only to deliver the mail.

Rights of readers under the GDPR

Readers in the European Union have the rights set out in Articles 15 to 21 of the GDPR: access to their personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and can exercise them by writing to info@interior-design.com.de. A reader who believes that the processing infringes the GDPR may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority; in Germany the competent authority is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz of the federal state where the reader lives.

Articles on Interior Design Germany link to external pages such as gesetze-im-internet.de, bundesgerichtshof.de, destatis.de, kfw.de and bafa.de as sources, and those websites process visitor data under their own privacy statements once a reader follows the link. The site does not embed content from those pages and does not transmit any visitor data to them until the reader clicks.
